A nice little shoot with the cream team of Clare Nicolson and myself. Also, these amazing lampshades from Another Studio helped a little.
When South Place Hotel invited me to display my photos in their private members club, I could have curated a selection of work from my existing catalogue and proudly handed over a ready-made exhibition. But where's the fun in that? Instead, I decided to set myself a challenge. I'd develop, produce, shoot and hang an original series of work, specifically with the venue in mind – in just 4 weeks.
'SYRUP' is all about colour and gloss, filth and stickiness. It's about decadence, about deliciousness... and my love of hotdogs. The exhibition has two 'sides'. Side 1 is so brash it makes your teeth itchy. An antedote to Side 1, Side 2 is still and clean and calm. A palette cleanser, if you like!
'Is it covered in sauce? Is it really sweet? Aye. I'll have one.'
Make-up is by Sadaf Ahmad and styling is by Clare Nicolson.

When Channel 4 asked me to shoot the promotional portraits for 24hrs in A&E I just couldn't shake off one particular idea: I wanted the 'cast' of doctors and nurses to look like rock stars. That's right. Rock stars. As it turned out, my quick and spontaneous, close-in, rock 'n' roll portrait idea lent itself well to the project given the stringent restrictions on time and access to locations.
The imagery went on to be used in print and online promotion.
