Icarus

'Nothing shall part us in our love til death at his appointed hour removed us from the light of day'

'Icarus' was exhibited at the Brunswick Hotel, Glasgow in 2011. The original photographs were printed on 24” x 24” heavy board with a high gloss finish.

Since its initial exhibition, I've repurposed Icarus for a variety of other projects including clothing designs and record sleeves.

Icarus was originally intended as an editorial fashion shoot for clothing designer Melissanthi Spei in collaboration with stylist Marina Maclean. The core photographs were white background, studio shots focusing on perfect positioning and body shape. I then manipulated these to create these mythological beings created to show the similarities within the beauty of the male and female form. Although heavily adjusted the colours and shape to the original clothing can still be seen.
